Growth in monthly revenue. Spanish brand of automotive additives and chemical products. Sales channel: Amazon.es.
- 6.6X growth in monthly revenue
- +512% units sold per quarter
- 6.6% sustained conversion rate
The challenge
CEROIL sells automotive additives and maintenance products on Amazon.es. Its product lineup was solid, but sales through that channel weren't taking off. During the first quarter of the last half-year, the account generated €480.34 in revenue and sold 31 units—an average of €160 per month.
The problem wasn't the product. It was visibility. The product listings weren't ranking for relevant searches, the content didn't convey the value of a technical product, and the lack of reviews was holding back conversions from buyers who need to feel confident before adding a chemical to their engine.
How did we do it?
We approach the listing as a comprehensive system. It’s not just a one-off optimization, but rather all of Amazon’s levers activated in the right order and sustained over time.
Organic ranking of the listing
We restructured the keyword architecture for each product page. We researched terms based on search volume and purchase intent, identified unique backend keywords, and optimized indexing to ensure visibility in searches that drive sales within the automotive category.
Headings and Bullets
We rewrote the headlines to place the main keyword at the beginning and clearly state the benefit. The bullet points shifted from simply listing features to addressing common questions: what the product does, what type of engine it’s designed for, and what problem it prevents. Technical information was translated into purchase decisions.
A+ Content
We feature top-quality content on the main product pages. These include visual modules that explain how to use the product, product line comparisons, and brand reinforcement. Shoppers understand what they’re buying before reading a single review.
Reviews on Vine
We launched the Vine program to generate verified reviews for products with no track record. Social proof is the number one barrier in automotive chemistry: no one adds an additive to their engine without knowing it worked for others. Vine broke down that barrier.
Product Videos
We've added videos to the product pages. These show how the product is used and the results it delivers. The videos reduce uncertainty for tech-savvy buyers and increase the time spent on the product page—two factors that Amazon rewards in its rankings.
Coupons and Special Offers
We schedule coupons and limited-time offers to boost sales velocity at key moments. Higher sales velocity drives organic rankings, which in turn leads to more sales. That’s the cycle we were looking for.
The Results
Over the last 30 days, they generated €1,072.68 in revenue. This is the best month on record for the account and accounts for 29% of total sales for the half-year.
The comparison by time period clearly shows the jump:
- First quarter of the semester: €480.34 and 31 units. Average of €160 per month.
- Last quarter: €3,177.00 and 190 units. Average of €1,059 per month.
- Last 30 days: €1,072.68, 67 units, and a conversion rate of 6.6%.
Monthly revenue increased 6.6-fold, and quarterly units sold increased 6.1-fold. The conversion rate remained between 6.6% and 6.9% as traffic grew, indicating that the increase in visibility did not compromise buyer quality.
What Does This Case Show?
On Amazon, it’s not the one who does one thing well who wins. It’s the one who activates all the listing levers at once and keeps them going. Ranking, content, social proof, and promotion all working together as a system. That’s what turned a stagnant catalog into CEROIL’s best month ever.
