The client
A boutique international tax firm based in Spain, with more than four decades of practice.
Its specialty is a very specific niche: the taxation of international civil servants living in Spain (European Union, UN, OECD). It also works with digital nomads under the Beckham Law, individuals with income in several countries and family businesses planning their succession.
It serves clients in Spanish, English, French and German. Its ideal client works for an international organisation, moves between countries and looks for answers on Google and, more and more, in AI assistants.
cronuts.digital joined as strategic partner to design and launch the new website and run its SEO and GEO strategy.
The challenge
The old website did not match the firm. In September 2026 it brought in 170 clicks a month from Google with an average position of 20.0: page two for almost everything.
The Search Console history told the same story. From 303 clicks in October 2025, the trend went down until it hit 115 clicks in August 2026.
And Google was not the only problem. This audience asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot or Google’s AI Mode more and more. In September, the website appeared 578 times in Google’s AI answers. In a niche where authority is everything, it was almost invisible.
- An international niche without an international website. Civil servants in Brussels, Geneva or Luxembourg search in English, French or German. The website had to answer them in their language.
- Expert knowledge, hard to cite. The firm has its own published doctrine on its specialty. It had to become pages that search engines and AI models can understand and cite.
- A website that did not talk to agents. It was not ready for an AI agent to read or operate it.
- No reliable measurement. There was no Google Analytics 4: no way to know who arrived and what they did.
How we did it
An agentic website works for three audiences at once: people, search engines and AI agents. We built it in four layers.
Layer 1. Fast and in four languages
A new WordPress website, with custom blocks and versions in Spanish, English, French and German. Fast from day one: 97/100 on PageSpeed on desktop and a 1.2 second load.
Layer 2. Expert content built to be cited
We turned the firm’s knowledge into pages that answer specific questions: the Beckham Law, the 183-day rule, UN pensions and Spanish income tax, the family holding company or what to do when a letter from the tax office arrives.
Each page opens with the answer, backs it with the law and closes with FAQs. That is the format search engines and AI models extract and cite.
We also distributed it on the managing partner’s LinkedIn, with posts in his voice that link to the articles: 4,839 impressions from the first two posts.
Layer 3. The agentic layer
This is the difference from a standard corporate website. The site introduces itself to machines and lets them operate it:
- llms.txt: a summary of the firm, its credentials and its practice areas in a format built for language models.
- MCP server and WordPress Abilities API: the site exposes actions to AI agents through the Model Context Protocol. Our own agents audit and optimise the site through that layer.
- Structured data so search engines and models understand who the firm is, what it does and what it writes about.
- Proprietary calculators: Beckham Law, income tax for EU civil servants and UN pensions. Useful tools that also capture enquiries.
Layer 4. Measurement from day one
We installed Google Analytics 4 with the new website. We connected Search Console, its AI features report and Bing Webmaster Tools to measure Copilot citations.
Every month we cross-check the forms against the leads sheet and count only real enquiries: no internal tests, no spam.
Results
October 2026 was the website’s best month in 16 months of Search Console history. And it was the first month with the new website.
The jump comes with the launch
Before the launch, the website was at around 1,300 weekly impressions. From the second week of October, the average is 6,189: 4.5x.
The week of 12 October closed with 155 clicks and an average position of 9.4. Page one on Google.
AI already recommends the firm
Appearances in AI Overviews and Google’s AI Mode went from 578 to 8,257 in one month. 235 pages of the website appear in AI answers, in all four languages. 61% of them in English.
We tested it live on 3 November 2026. For the query “taxation of European civil servants living in Spain, specialist firm”, Google’s AI Mode recommends the firm and uses three of its pages as sources. In English, its Beckham Law guide is the first source cited.
Copilot points the same way: 106 citations in October, with at least one on 22 of the 31 days. And 18 visits came straight from ChatGPT and Gemini.
From visibility to enquiries
35 real enquiries in the first month, excluding internal tests and spam.
- 17 of the 33 contact form enquiries came from international civil servants: European Commission, European Parliament, UN, WHO, World Bank or NATO.
- 9 enquiries in English or German, from the international versions of the website.
- 2 enquiries from the calculators.
- 5 min 21 s average duration of visits from Google, and 72% of visits engaged.
One in five clicks already comes from outside Spain. Belgium is the second country by clicks, with an 11.1% CTR: one visit for every nine appearances.
Five lessons for launching an agentic website
- Design for three audiences. People, search engines and AI agents read a website differently. You have to serve all three.
- An international niche needs languages. 61% of AI appearances came in English. Without that version, that traffic does not exist.
- Authority is written. AI cites pages that answer precisely. Expert knowledge has to be published.
- Measure AI, not just Google. Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools and GA4 already show AI visibility. What you do not measure, you cannot manage.
- Count real enquiries. Filtering out tests and spam separates a useful report from an inflated one.

Frequently asked questions
What is an agentic website?
An agentic website is built for three audiences: people, search engines and AI agents. Beyond design and content, it publishes its information in formats models understand, such as llms.txt and structured data, and exposes actions to AI agents through protocols like MCP.
What is the difference between SEO and GEO?
SEO works on a website's position in Google's classic results. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) works on getting it cited in the answers of ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot or Google's AI Mode. In this case both were worked at the same time, with the same content.
How long does a new website take to show results on Google?
It depends on the sector and the starting point. In this case, the jump came in the first full week after launch: from around 1,300 weekly impressions to an average of 6,189, and 485 clicks in the first month against 170 the month before.
How do you measure a website's visibility in AI?
With several sources at once: the Search Console AI features report for AI Overviews and Google's AI Mode, Bing Webmaster Tools for Copilot citations, Google Analytics 4 for visits from ChatGPT or Gemini, and live tests with real questions.
Why does a multilingual website help in an international niche?
Because clients search in their own language. In this case, 61% of appearances in Google's AI came in English, 9 enquiries arrived in English or German and one in five clicks came from outside Spain.
